The AQPR-02G-500 powered reel system is a tower driven system capable of driving Coflexip, NKT and Wellstream type reels as well as Aquatic Installation reels. The unit is fitted with horizontal cylinders to engage the drive hubs into the reel and vertical hydraulic cylinders to raise and lower the drive hubs of reels at full load capacity.

The AQPR-02G-500 system is road transportable or can be shipped in a series of open topped containers worldwide by dismantling the unit into components. The tower base frames are bolted together with spacer beams available to suit different widths of reel. Packer frames and cradles are also available to suit varying reel flange diameters.

The AQPR-02G-500 is operated from an electric remote control console and powered by either a diesel or electric hydraulic powerpack from the Aquatic range.

Multi – Reel Lay Mode:

The AQPR-02G-500 is compatible with the AQPRTS-01 and AQPRTS-03 powered reel track systems. The track system comprises of two sets of beams. The lower beams are seafastened to the deck of the vessel while the upper beams move along the lower beams using a combination of hydraulic cylinders, rams and clamps. The AQPR-02G-500 tower is bolted to the upper beams of the tracked system. During installation of product the first reel will be lifted out of its cradles using the AQPR-02G jacks and the product installed. On completion of the installation the reel will be lowered back into its cradles using the AQPR-02G-500 jacks before moving the towers to engage the next reel using the tracked system.
This procedure would be repeated for a number of reels depending on the available deck length of the vessel. If required the AQPR-02G-500 can be used in conjunction with the AQPR-02A-400/AQPR-02B-400 and AQPR-02E-400 and AQPRTS-01/AQPRTS-03 track systems (with three sets of tracks) to install parallel sets of reels along the longitudinal length of the vessel

For specific projects the maximum reel diameter and width of the system can be increased outwith the limits stated
A level winder, stern chute and a variety of storage reels to suit the AQPR-02G-500 are also available for hire
