The pipe cutter is a transportable cutting device. It is primarily designed to shear a continuous length of flexible pipe into manageable lengths for disposal. The pipe cutter can also shear electric cable, umbilical hose, wire rope and steel pipe as required. The system requires an external electrical power supply.
For normal operation the spread consists of the pipe cutter, a control console, an electro hydraulic power pack and the associated hydraulic hoses to accompany the unit. The powerpack is fitted with a 30kW electric motor which requires a 440V, 60Hz, 50 amp power supply.
The unit is fitted with a safety shutdown circuit to avoid the guards being lifted during operation.
